Hello, dear writer! This is my first exchange after a tiny bit of a break, and needless to say I am really looking forward to it! The vast majority of my fandoms are rarer than I'd like (GAY DETECTIVES SOLVING CRIMES WHY ISN'T EVERYBODY UP IN THIS), And so I am hella thrilled to have an exchange dedicated to them. All of the fandoms listed here are ones that I've literally never received fic for before, so definitely don't worry too much! Whatever you write me will likely meet with loud explosions of glee, so as long as you avoid a few vital squicks I should be incredibly happy!

And on the subject of squicks...

Fic Likes:
smut (my major kinks include biting, bloodplay, voices breaking in sex, talkative characters, anything oral, consensual rough sex, xeno, robosexuality, double penetration and usually composed characters COMPLETELY LOSING THEIR COOL), the entire Enemy Mine trope, fake relationships/fake marriages becoming real, huddling for warmth, sex pollen, first times, female characters, fluff, Fusions (especially Harry Potter/Hunger Games/Daemon/A:TLA based), AUs of pretty much any kind (excepting slavefic and A/B/O) and badass action stuff.
Fic Dislikes: A/B/O, Slavefic, mpreg, anything scat/waterplay related, mind control, bashing female characters, issuefic, unrequested pairings, crossovers (I'm fine with different canon settings being used, but would prefer no characters from other canons to appear!) and unrequested incest.
Fic Squicks (as in: will almost certainly not read fic if it includes these): Rape/Non-con, bestiality, Severe underage (anybody under 14 for this exchange), abuse (especially abuse presented as romantic), relationships being broken up within the fic and infidelity (though see exceptions below!).

There we go! :D Fandoms should be arranged alphabetically, and the characters/pairings (mainly pairings, let's be super real) are listed underneath them. All requests are fanfic only, mainly because I have no idea what I like in art. So, onwards!

Here be a Letter )
Balzano and Byrne Series – Richard Montanari
Requested: Jessica Balzano/Kevin Byrne

I really adore this book series. They're a fairly trashy set of crime novels, but really shine when they focus more on character interactions and development. What I really love about this series is how well drawn all of the figures within them are. They all have their own relationships and motivations, and I would love to see something as vividly characterized - and preferably as vividly trashy - as the books themselves.

The main two characters I'm interested in here are Jessica Balzano and Kevin Byrne. I love these two together! It would've been so easy to just have another warring detectives storyline, with the brash new woman having to prove herself to the older male cop who she's been partnered with, but instead these two just genuinely seem to like each other from the start and it's really endearing. I love the bond they have with each other, I love how they tease each other and I love how supportive they both are of each other even when it gets tough.

As a side note, infidelity is one of my squicks. But I also really hate Vincent, Jessica's husband! So, uh, feel free to deal with him in whatever way you want. As long as outright infidelity is avoided, I'll probably be fine with it.

Some ideas:

-I'd be thrilled to see a canon-style case fic with them, honestly! Where they have to solve a murder, and are adorable with each other on the way.
-Despite all of Byrne's obsession with his supposed second sight, it turns out that Jessica is the one who actually possesses supernatural powers. What powers does she possess, and how do they both cope with the revelation of them?
-I'd love a fake married style fic with them. Where they have to pretend to be married to get close to a suspect, and maybe discover their own feelings along the way.
-As it turns out, they are dynamite in bed together. Honestly, I would be fine with a fic where they just discover this and then spend the next week in bed exploring each other.
-Extra optional prompt, since I requested neither Sophie or Colleen, but I'd love a fic where their kids see how perfect they are together and decide to get them into a relationship as a result!

Blake and Avery series – MJ Carter
Requested: Jeremiah Blake/William Avery

This is absolutely one of my favourite series, and if you’ve read it I’m sure you know why. Interesting plots, wonderful diversity, Historical accuracy AND a relationship between the two main characters so endearing that I had to keep putting my copy of the book down to clutch my face with glee. Truly, a dangerous combination.

As you can probably guess, what I want most in this fandom is fic exploring the relationship between Blake and Avery even further. I loved their dynamic in the book, and I really want to see more of it. Especially in a romantic sense. I feel that there’s a hell of a lot of potential for a really interesting romantic relationship there, and I’d absolutely love to see somebody explore that!

One thing I will say, though, is that adultery is one of my major squicks and so I’d prefer it if you worked around Helen. She can either be friends with Avery or just not appearing, but I’d prefer it if they weren’t actually married if you choose to write a romantic dynamic.

Some prompts:

-There was a scene in book 3 where these two have to share a bed. Needless to say, IT WAS MY FAVOURITE SCENE. I'd love to see something where it goes in a slightly different direction, where Avery rolls over in his sleep or they're both more vulnerable in the morning light and... Well, possibly sex and then feelings? :D
-My headcanon for these books is that Blake has been head over heels for Avery since at least the end of a first one. I would love something exploring that, possibly with a happy requited ending thrown in!
-Blake has to go to Cornwall to solve a case there, and teams up with Avery again. Along the way they discover their feelings, and have to work through just what they mean to each other and the romantic ramifications that meaning has.
-Blake and Avery's next case involves the underground gay community in London, a community that it possibly turns out Blake has unexpected links to. How does Avery react to this? Does he slowly start to realize that maybe he's not as straight as he always assumed? Does Blake go slightly nuts as Avery slowly starts to explore his new realizations?
-Genderswap AU. Wihelmina Avery was sent to India to find a husband, but being poor and shabby she has little luck. And then she meets Jeremiah Blake and gets swept into an adventure involving most unladylike behaviour.

The Flash (Comics)
Requested: Jay Garrick/Alan Scott

I'm not at all familiar with the post NU52 stuff with the JSA, but pre-NU52 I have an abiding fondness for it. It isn't at all a modern comic, and sometimes not even all that exciting one, but I just really adore everything that goes on within it. I can't help but adore the lovely team atmosphere, the sense of loyalty, the examination of the tension between the old way of superheroing and the brand new. It really is the best form of nostalgia, and is a lovely comfort read as a result.

...And These two! Somebody nominated these two! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :DDDD

Ahem, yes. I have firmly shipped these two basically since I picked up my first JSA comic. They're just so sweet! Both grumpy old men, in slightly different ways, but both committed to doing the right thing and being thoroughly nice people. I really love how they interact with each other, and how those interactions bring the best out of each other. They've known each other for SO LONG, and I adore the dynamic that creates. They trust each other absolutely, know all of each other's little quirks and can sort of sit back and find a calm harbour with each other no matter what the situation. I adore it!

My stance on infidelity here is that while I'd rather it not be a THING thing, I can understand how it'd be a bit difficult to avoid at times. I'd personally prefer it to be a form of understated polyamory (where their wives/Mainly Joan, because I love Joan) are fine with it but don't really feel the need to have long discussions about arrangements, but I'm also fine with the wives/Again mainly Joan just being friends or not even being mentioned. Whatever is easiest for you, basically! As long as it isn't 1000 odd words on the subject of angsting over/revelling in cheating I should be fine with it!

Some Prompts:

-5 times they had sex, and 1 time they actually acknowledged that it meant something.
-I'd love something domestic for them! As I said above, one of my favourite things about their relationship is just how well they know each other and how comfortable they are with each other. I would honestly love something where they're in an established relationship and just have a lovely ordinary day together.
-Them fighting crime as an established couple. Do the rest of the JSA know, or is it a secret kept to a select few? How annoying is it to get turfed out of bed on a weekend just to take down the latest supervillain of the week? In waht ways, big or little, do they support each other?
-Genderswap AU. Jay discovers that the unmarried Alana Scott is pregnant with twins, and decides to do the decent thing (despite them not being his twins) and marry her. Alana, reluctantly, agrees. And... Then it's up to you, really! As long as there are many feelings along the way I should be happy.

Restoration Series - Edward Marston
Requested: Christopher Redmayne/Jonathan Bale

Ah, yet another slightly obscure crime series that I really enjoy! The Restoration series is, as the title implies, set in the Restoration and is a lot of fun. I like the little period details, I like the intricacies of the mysteries and I really like how the two come together in a lot of interestingly tense ways. The ways that Puritans and Cavaliers (and even Puritan and Cavalier leaning people!) interact in this series is fascinating to me, and a big part of the reason as to why I keep coming back.

That, and the two main characters. I ADORE Christopher and Jonathan and the relationship between them. They start off a little tense with each other, one being a Cavalier leaning dude and the other being fairly Puritan, but quickly grow into a really strong and lasting partnership. I think the fifth book calls them "unlikely soulmates" (and, yeah, if you have matched on another thing and are just idly reading through the rest of this letter TOTALLY A REASON TO READ THESE BOOKS), and that's basically the only way I can see them now. I love how supportive they are of each other, how well they compliment each other and how much they just GET each other despite all their differences.

My stance on infidelity here is, again, that while I'd rather it not be a thing, I can understand how it could be difficult to avoid and don't want you to tie yourself up in knots over it! I'd prefer it to be stated/heavily implied polyamory (in that Sarah is fine with it), but as long as it isn't 1000 odd words of Jonathan angsting over/revelling in cheating on his wife I should be beyond fine!

Some Prompts:

-Sex Pollen! I will admit, I have always had a deep affection for the sex pollen trope and I would love to see it used to good effect here. Both of them are very obviously fond of each other, but have a lot of reasons not to actually get together. I'd like to see some form of sex pollen forcing them into taking the first step, and would also be interested in seeing where that beginning led next!
-Them being protective of each other. One of my favourite facets of their relationship in the books is just how protective of each other they are, both of them tend to freak out when the other one is even a little bit threatened, and I'd love to see more of that. I'd also love to see them slowly realizing that they're protective of each other because they care for each other romantically, and where that realization leads.
-In my mind both Jonathan and Christopher are definitely into each other, but just haven't realized it yet. Show me them both realizing it! How much do they freak out? How do they act around each other in the aftermath of that realization? Does one recognize their feelings before the other, and if so how do they cope with that? Just how much work do they have to do before they get to a happy ending?
-On the flipside of all of the above, I'd really love an established relationship fic with them. Where they worked through all the baggage a few years ago, and are now a really strong couple who just happen to solve crimes together. Does Jonathan still awkwardly attempt to court Christopher sometimes? Do they delight in sharing a bed together? Does Henry start rolling his eyes every time he sees the two of them together? Basically just go nuts with fluff, and I shall be extremely happy!
-I mentioned the "unlikely soulmates" line in the spiel above, possibly my favourite line in all the books I will be honest, and I'd like a slightly more literal interpretation of that. Yep, Soulmate AU! Christopher and Jonathan are soulmates. How does this affect their relationship? How does this affect the dynamics of the world around them? How do they work through any difficulties that come up, and reach a hopefully happy ending?

So, yes, hopefully that will give you a few good ideas! I'm excited to see whatever you come up with, and will be eagerly looking forward to reveals in June! :D (Which is also my birthday month, and a year until my wedding! Goooooood times ^^)

You know, I'm probably not going to use this much but I'm just going to say here that I wish Livejournal would stop going down at odd moments, I do have stuff to do on there y'know and it's just annoying that it keeps going down, this is the second time in about a week and it's starting to get annoying.

At least I have a Dreamwidth now just in case the worst happens and Livejournal fails completely, it might not but it does annoy me a little when it goes down without any warning.

...It appears to be vaguely back now, temperamental thing.
